4th International Conference on Late Roman Coarse Ware, Cooking Ware and Amphorae in the Mediterranean:
Archaeology and Archaeometry

Thessaloniki, 7-10 April 2011

The 4th International Conference on Late Roman Coarse Ware, Cooking Ware and Amphorae in the Mediterranean: Archaeology and Archaeometry (LRCW 4) will take place in Thessaloniki (NorthernGreece) from Thursday 7 th through Sunday 10th of April 2011. It will be organized by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the N.C.S.R. Demokritos. The LRCW 4 Conference comprises oral and poster presentations of Late Roman pottery (3 rd century AD to the end of antiquity) deriving from the Mediterranean region.

Abstract submission

Abstracts of 300 words maximum should be submitted to the conference address lrcw4-congress@hist.auth.gr in Word format including: title (in capitals), name(s), institution, email address of the author(s), and some key-words. Please, specify if you wish to present an oral communication or a poster. The abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee on the basis of their quality and originality. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 JUNE 2010.

Papers

Oral presentations should not exceed 15 minutes. Participants are encouraged to deliver their presentations using PowerPoint, but projectors for transparencies and slides are also available.

Posters

Poster dimensions should not exceed 100 (height) x 70 cm (width). Unaccompanied posters will not be accepted.

Languages

Official languages of the conference are Greek and English. The Organizing Committee will accept communications in French, Italian and Spanish. Non-English speakers are invited to use English for their PowerPoint slides and submit to the Secretariat 15 days before the conference an extended English abstract (2-3 pages) that will be distributed to the audience on the day of the presentation.
